Charitable Contributions

As part of our mission to support long distance running in our community, we like to give back with both monetary donations and our time through volunteerism.  We also support members who participate in a run for a special cause.  Check out the information below for some of the ways we give back.

Current Donations for 2016

$200 The Celebrate Life Half Marathon, Rock Hill, NY.  This event raises money for CROC, an organization dedicated to the treatment and eradication of cancer in Orange and Sullivan Counties.  In addition to the donation made by the Hill Runners of Hunterdon, our members made individual donations.
$100 The Hunterdon YMCA, Hunterdon County, NJ.  Our regular Saturday run takes us past the Hunterdon YMCA's Camp Carr, where we take advantage of its bathroom facilities and water fountains during the summer months.  As a thank you, we traditionally make an annual donation.

$250 Girls on the Run 5k, Flemington, NJ.  The Girls on the Run program is located right here in Hunterdon County, and Warren and Bucks Counties too.
$50 Vine Sanctuary (animal refuge)

Ongoing Volunteer Work

GOTR Girls on the Run 5k Flemington, NJ.  The Girls on the Run put on a 5k race in Flemington each year. Each year, a few of our members volunteer their time to ensure a smooth and successful experience for all involved.

Adopt-A-Trail
Deer Path Park

The Hunterdon County Parks Department has a program for individuals and groups/clubs to adopt trails for routine clean-up and maintenance throughout the county park system. In 2014, the Hill Runners of Hunterdon adopted the trail system at Deer Path Park. Its trails are regularly used for trail and cross country races, so its use was a good match for our club. At least twice a year, we host a Sunday club run from the park followed by a trail clean-up in accordance with the adopt-a-trail program.
Clinton Country Run Clinton Country Run Each year the Hill Runners of Hunterdon spend the morning volunteering at this great local event. The majority of our members hand out water and Gatorade at aid stations on the course, another announces time at mile 4 on the course, and yet another member acts as the “sweeper,” ensuring no runner is left on the course.
