Evolving Trail Runners spring opportunity

Hello All,
And the award for longest forum post about an event goes to...your new Social Director. (bazinga!) ... 14-apr.pdf

I will apologize in advance for this long post, but...
Your reputation and experience has led to our local Princeton area runners reaching out just this morning to your HRH club with a reminder that there is still room to enroll for a small & short trail event on April 5th. This 8K is perfect for a change of scenery off the roads as well as easily accessible in nearby Mercer County. Great for anyone out there thinking about trying a simple trail experience in a "not so far out" venue.
The 4th Annual 6K Trail Institute Woods at Princeton Friends School, put on by
Here is what else I know:
Walkers welcome to join at a separate start time.
The event caps off at 150 participants.
Previous participant entry totals to this April event are -
2013 were 50
2012 were 74
their 1st year 2011 were 52
There is a "budget entry" going on right now if you skip the shirt experience at $18, limited time only.
With the experience of a shirt with your registration it is about $30-35 All the info is in the links, I just wanted to give this much detail since we received this as a direct communication to the club just this morning.

Registration is online (and expensive to do onsite day of at about $50 if I recall correctly)

Fun to know if you go:
Also WITHIN 4 miles of this venue is the very wonderful
Terhune Orchards. When considering helping out this Princeton community of runners by attending the above trail run - consider stopping by Terhune Orchards' Farm Store as a post race outing that morning and purchase some of the most delicious whole fruit pies ever baked! Enjoy your pie on their cozy front porch bench or walk around back to one of their picnic tables. Any parents with young ones can enjoy viewing their livestock in pasture, and interesting "farm equipment playground". I have done all of this with my kid. Even when he was too big for it. Like standing next to a giant painting of a corn cob painted on the side of a barn which shows your height in feet.
Maybe some of their wonderful seasonal produce will be available. I just confirmed by phone their Farm Store is open all year long, with PIE everyday.
In addition to the Farm Store there is now a WINE Barn.
Yes, that's right, a barn with wine tastings of tasty grapeness.

And last, but not least, this community called Princeton Athletic Club has full information at their lilnk about some other fast approaching short distances they offer in March & June at
They are in need of volunteers as well and they have made it easy to sign up for volunteer opportunites ONLINE through See the link for details, but let me know if you do volunteer or attend as a runner because I would love to have a follow up communication with them if any of you HRH's do participate in any capacity, so please post if you attend this or one of their other things.
