Post subject:  Deer Collision with Runner

At the Clinton Township Country Run in April, a deer ran across the road and collided with a woman runner, knocking her down. This is along our regular Saturday route on or near Lilac, so keep an eye out for deer crossing and please warn fellow runners if you see a deer about to cross.

Here is the post-race report from the race director:

"Many of you have asked about the condition of one of our runners who was hit and flipped in the air by a deer at the 1.6 mile mark. She sustained a concussion when she landed on her head, a few contusions and a very sore left hip. When I spoke to her last week, she was mending, but was in more pain than any of her prior marathon experiences. We wish her continued healing and are hopeful that she will try again next year."
